This is more about the visual look than the actual performance of a tire on a classic Mustang from the Musclecar era. Just my $.02 based on a long experience with the Firestones and a much briefer experience with the BFG's. I realize that the tire size pretty much means they are the same dimensions, but the Firestones just looked better on the car. Another observation is that, while both sets of tires were/are 215/70x14's, the Firestones just looked "chunkier" and seemed to fill the wheel wells a little better. I have the Goodyear Eagle III's on my Vette but I couldn't find them in 14" or I would have never put the BFG's on the car in the first place. My front suspension is fresh, I'm running KYB Gas-A-Justs and the steering box is a Flaming River unit. I think the BFG's are following road seams. The car seems to be a lot less firm on the road and is subject to a lot of lateral movement. I wanted a manufacturer's name on the tires that would look "period" so I opted for the BFG T/A's. When I decided to replace them I was disappointed to find that they no longer said "Firestone" on the tires. ![]() I had a set of Firestone Firehawk SS10s on my convertible for many years.
